Perfect for a luxury and exclusive get away

Amazing resort with amazing staff. From start to finish it was an unforgettable experience. Super friendly staff with 24/7 premium service. It is hard to stay away from all the food and great cocktails. The quality and selection of food and beverages is top notch. Even though it was the end of the rainy season with on and off occasional showers the temperature was always nice.

Perfect resort for a relaxing post Safari holiday!

We were a group of six that came to the Baraza Resort after our Tanzanian Safari.

Angela made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived at the Baraza Resort, giving us a tour of the beautifully groomed property as well as each of our Beachfront Villas. The villa was very spacious, well appointed, complete with a private plunge pool and dedicated loungers at the beach.

The service at the hotel, bars and restaurants was excellent. The dining venue changed each evening with either buffet or a set menu. The variety and quality of the food was appealing for every appetite. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment which ranged from indigenous to international music.

The resort is located on a beautiful beach directly on the Indian Ocean. It offers water activities as well a low tide walks to the reef. The pool area is spacious and offers a covered cabana area.

The Baraza Resort is the perfect place to spend a few relaxing days after your safari.

A tropical dream come true at Baraza Hotel !!!

Recently we had the pleasure of staying at Baraza Hotel, it was an absolute dream! From the moment We stepped foot onto the stunning property, we were blown away by the sheer beauty and tranquility that surrounded us. The accommodations at Baraza Hotel are nothing short of luxurious. Our room was a true haven of comfort and elegance, with a spacious layout, plush furnishings, and a private terrace that offered breathtaking, private pool that our kids loved the most.

One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They greeted us with warm smiles and went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. From the attentive waitstaff to the knowledgeable concierge, everyone made us feel like valued guests throughout our time at Baraza Hotel. The resort's facilities and amenities were equally impressive. The sparkling pool was the perfect place to unwind and soak up the sun, while the luxurious spa offered a blissful sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation. First trip to Zanzibar

This resort was absolutely amazing. The staff was so attentive to every need, the food was great, and the views were stunning.

One staff member, Musa, was especially awesome as he guided us on a snorkeling trip and joined us in a fun game of billiards. He amazed my family with hitting awesome trick shots one after another.

I highly recommend this resort if you are visiting Zanzibar!

Baraza, a journey to Luxury

Brilliant weeks stay. Thank you so much for the upgrade. Sitting on our patio next to our plunge pool was such a lovely way to start and end our days. Every meal was an incredible experience. Perfection

Baraza Resort feels like the ultimate Zanzibar experience for travelers like my husband and me, who want to enjoy the people, food, and culture here, and also be comfortable in a magnificent vacation spot. Every day offered something new for activities, such as crafts, music, tropical fruits and drinks, spicy foods, colorful fabrics, water sports. But also just relaxing under the palms, near the bougainvillea paths, by the beach, in the gentle breeze, watching the changing hues of blues, greens, turquoise in the sea and sky…nothing could be better.

A Zanzibar Diamond

Just back from 2 weeks at Baraza. We have travelled all over the world but Baraza must rank as one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The architecture is beautiful, the villas are luxurious and the setting on a white sandy beach enchanting. Food and drinks are all inclusive. We were a bit concerned about this as we normally like to choose to eat out etc. However the choice and quality were excellent. But best of all were the staff team; they really make the Baraza experience; unfailingly cheerful, informative and efficient. A great credit to the hotel; our thanks to all of them for making our stay memorable

What can I say about Baraza. This place is incredible. Picturesque. Luxury. Indulgent.

The staff here are superb. Attentive. Friendly. Genuine. The pool and the beach areas are immaculately kept. The food is incredible. The spa experience was out of this world!

Peripheral things like the gym and tennis courts are perfect also. Special touches for our anniversary really made our trip. A hotel that really focuses on the small details that make a holiday! A special mention must go to the ops manager Simone! What a star

Great resort, everything is great, and service is top notch.

Everything is there, there is no reason to leave the resort. Spa is great, snorkling around the corner in the blue lagoon. Sports center is delivering great activities. Also for kids a great place to go to.

Baraza is arguably the best hotel in Zanzibar currently.

Its modern take on the island's old Omani heritage provides an atmosphere of mistique and adventure throughout your stay.

Its beachfront property is located at the south-east coast of the island, facing the Indian Ocean. Contrary to the northern coast of Zanzibar, the beach in the south-east is substantially more affected by the tide, meaning sometimes there's no beach at all, and sometimes you can walk out all the way to tye brim of the reef. This feature proved to be an asset, however, since their water sports center takes advantage of this by offering different activities depending on the state of the tide. As an example, I highly recommend the reef walk tour during low tide (you'll be provided with reef shoes) or kayaking during high tide. The property gets very windy at times, which is heaven for Kite-Surifing or sailing. The property contains also a fully equipped gym, a tennis court and a spa.

Baraza offers full board, meaning all meals of the day are provided. This should not be confused with the traditional all-inclusive models which cater to large masses. Baraza offers an excellent culinary experience with set 5 course menues designed by their in-house Chef, buffets, open air grills and many more. No one goes hungry or unsatisfied at Baraza.

The only real caveat of the hotel in my opinion is the fact that you're far away from any village or city, meaning most of of your evenings will be spent at the property and there's no chance to wander by to check different bars and restaurants out. Baraza more than makes up for this by their stellar food & drink options, however.

Lastly, I highly recommend going on the dolphin watching and the turtle sanctuary tours. The Stone Town tour was far less impressive, the only thing worth spending time there was the slave trade museum in my opinion.

Baraza is the perfect upscale spa destination in Zanzibar.

Fantastic accommodations, food, and service, all with an Arabian flair. Simone, the manager greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome and everyone on his team followed his lead. The beach was the perfect spot for all the activities they offer as well as a place to e place the low tide pools filled with starfish and other creatures. We especially liked the private beach cabana and the quiet time to explore this eco-friendly property. Though family-friendly, it is a couple’s paradise too. We'll be returning with friends soon.

We spent 7 wonderful days in this private resort and we wished it was longer.

The villas are spacious, food is excellent, the spa treatments exquisite, the staff outstanding, and perfect weather conditions. We managed to try watersports activities and it was a splendid experience, we are looking forward to making arrangements on booking Zanzibar sometime next year, we have to come back to this lovely resort. Whilst in Tanzania we’d heard Baraza called ‘the best hotel in Zanzibar’ so our expectations were high on arrival.

Thankfully they were met, and exceeded, it really is a classy hotel that exactly matched our requirements - it’s ‘exclusive’ (I don’t like that word) yet unpretentious, the staff are engaging and super helpful yet never overbearing and the number of guests was just perfect for a relaxed environment (the opposite of some resorts - less really is more). The entire setting evoked an elegant Arabian charm - you know you’re in Zanzibar. A lot of effort has gone on behind the scenes to make everything feel natural and effortless, which is exactly how it should be. It goes without saying that the food and drink was superb and we did our best to consume as much as possible as we finished off our honeymoon in style! We had one small issue during our stay but as expected this was sorted with supreme professionalism and the minimum of fuss by the team at Baraza. Understated, classy, professional, seemingly effortless, and comforting - Baraza truly is the Queen Elizabeth II of hotels.
